Blended Learning Guidelines effective January 2023

  1. Effective January 2023, considering the experience of the ongoing semester, the 50/50 onsite/online blend will remain as the minimum teaching modality. However, in our effort to transition to a truly blended learning environment next school year, some courses may have more onsite classes if deemed best for the course (subject to room availability). These courses will therefore not follow the odd/even scheme.
  2. Note that the “quasi-hybrid mode” (hyflex) is not mandatory to accommodate the few students who will be given exemptions from attending onsite sessions. The faculty may opt to give the said students other learning tasks as long as the content delivery and learning outcomes for the course are achieved.
  3. Heeding an expressed need by students, additional classrooms will be made available as soon as possible to students attending online sessions while on campus. The classrooms will be labeled accordingly and announced soon.
  4. As with the classes, work may be fully onsite if the needs of the students and faculty demand it and the circumstances of the employees allow it.
  5. We wish to highlight the preference for on-campus academic consultations (one-on-one consultation of a student with a teacher) as a necessary extension of teaching. If online consultation is needed, the use of the uap.asia account of both the student and the teacher is essential to preserve the official nature of the consultation. Moreover, the session may be recorded should the student or the teacher prefer to do so.
