UA&P-IST presents paper on service learning in IT at 5th CUPSCon

 

The UA&P Department of Information Science and Technology (IST) presented its paper on service learning in information technology at the 5th Colleges and Universities Public Service Conference (CUPSCon5) hosted by the UP Padayon Public Service Office from August 28 to 30, 2024, at Palawan State University in Puerto Princesa.

The conference carried the theme “Future of Public Service in the Fourth Industrial Revolution: Trends, Challenges, and Prospects" and drew 200 participants from higher education institutions, national government agencies, and local government units. 

In their paper on “Service-Learning in Information Technology as an Instrument for Effective Community Engagement,” IST showed the importance of blending hands-on learning with community impact and highlighted how technology can drive positive change.

During the opening of the three-day conference with the keynote speaker, broadcast journalist and UP Department of Journalism chairperson Kara Patria David-Cancio (front row, 5th from left). Two hundred participants from various higher education institutions, national government agencies, and local government units were present at Palawan State University - Main Campus.

UA&P-vivo ICFT opening ceremony & futsal match

 

The Department of Physical Education, in collaboration with the UA&P Men's Futsal Team, invites everyone to watch the opening ceremony and first game of the UA&P-vivo Intercollegiate Futsal Tournament to be held on September 21 (Saturday) at 10:00 am at the UA&P Parking & Sports Building.

The opening game will be at 10:30 am between our very own Men's Futsal Team against UP Los Baños.

 

 

WYAAP Emerging Leaders Conference 2024

 

World Youth Alliance - Asia Pacific (WYAAP), in collaboration with the UA&P School of Social Sciences, Law, and Governance (SLG), is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the WYAAP Emerging Leaders Conference  (ELC) 2024 to be held on November 8-9, 2024, at the University of Asia and the Pacific.

The conference, with the theme "Dignity Unbound: Emerging Leaders for a Free and Just Society," is set to gather the brightest young minds from the Asia Pacific region to unlock their creative potential and be part of a global movement that drives positive change. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and network with like-minded individuals.

SED Thanksgiving Mass

 

Everyone is invited to the Thanksgiving Mass in celebration of the 31st anniversary of the School of Education and Human Development at the Sancta Maria Stella Orientis Oratory on September 17 (Tuesday) at 12:05 pm.

Dulaang ROC's season opener

 

UA&P’s Dulaang ROC will stage the one-act play Alikabok sa Kusina, written by Dr. Joachim Emilio Antonio, an eight-time Palanca Award-winning playwright and Associate Professor of UA&P. 

Alikabok sa Kusina tells the story of Rick and Claire, two lifelong friends who find themselves confronting a challenging situation. This encounter triggers unresolved emotional baggage, pushing them to make difficult decisions about their friendship. 

Directed by Dulaang ROC former president and alumna Patricia Villacorta, the play will run from September 18 to 21 at the Telengtan Hall, 5th Floor, APEC Communications Building, UA&P.
