The Department of Information Science and Technology (IST) of the UA&P School of Sciences and Engineering was among the recipients of the Gawad Ka-Brigada ng Bulacan 2024 for its exceptional support as a partner institution to the Department of Education (DepEd) Bulacan.
The recognition highlights IST's commitment to strengthening educational initiatives and fostering meaningful collaborations in the region.
IST Chair Mr. Cyrus Paolo Buenafe, in his message on behalf of the major education partners of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Bulacan, underscored the importance of partnerships in creating a supportive and innovative learning environment for students and teachers.
Mr. Buenafe was also recognized by the Virginia Ramirez-Cruz National High School (VRCNHS) for his contributions to their programs. VRCNHS Principal Dr. Odette Valondo handed him a token of appreciation for IST's continued partnership and support to the school.
The awarding ceremony took place on December 12, 2024, in Bustos, Bulacan. The event, with the theme "Strengthening External Support in Education: Establishing a MATATAG Foundation for Well-being and Academic Achievement," aimed to gather internal and external stakeholders to discuss key issues in basic education.

The College of Arts and Sciences Operations Committee is pleased to announce that Dr. Mary Josefti C. Nito has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor effective 28 July 2024.
Dr. Nito was conferred the Doctor of Philosophy in History degree at the University of the Philippines Diliman with her dissertation entitled “Marian Devotions in Luzon: Narratives of Identity and Place in Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries.” Dr. Nito obtained her Master's and Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from the University of Asia and the Pacific. She joined the Department of History of the College of Arts and Sciences in 2010 and now serves as its Chair.
