UA&P partners with Dualtech for ICT tech-voc education
On January 23, the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), through the Department of Information Science and Technology of the School of Sciences and Engineering, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dualtech Training Center in Calamba City, Laguna, that will provide information and communication technology (ICT) education to Dualtech’s electromechanical students as part of their technical-vocational program.
The partnership aims to pursue research, training, and development initiatives that will elevate the quality of the delivery of technical and vocational education and training services in the field of ICT while strengthening the technical and vocational education and training ecosystem of both UA&P and Dualtech.
Dualtech Center, established in 1982, pioneered the German Dual Training System (DTS) in the country, where the school and industry train students in real-life work experience. The center trains over a thousand scholars from the poor sectors of society each year and partners with over a hundred companies in training them for eventual employment.
