UA&P conducts economic briefing for diplomats
On October 5, diplomats from 20 countries convened at the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) for the Economic Briefing for Diplomats, an annual event designed to encourage dialogue among members of the diplomatic corps and strengthen their understanding of current Philippine economic issues.
In attendance were Ambassador Betty Palaso of the Embassy of Papua New Guinea, Ambassador Ilan Fluss of the Embassy of the State of Israel, Ambassador Agus Widjojo from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, and Ambassador Daniel Hernández Joseph of the Embassy of the United Mexican States. Represented also were the embassies of Myanmar, Venezuela, Singapore, Russia, Colombia, Norway, South Africa, Japan, India, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, the Czech Republic, Argentina, Libya, New Zealand, the United States of America, and Thailand.
UA&P co-founder and senior economist Dr. Bernardo Villegas conducted the briefing, shedding light on national and global economic trends and challenges. Members of the UA&P Board of Trustees and Management Committee attended the event.
