LIB Advisory: University Library’s Phase 3 Reopening

Effective April 9 (Saturday), the following changes will be implemented for Phase 3 of the University Library (LIB) reopening:

1. The physical premises of LIB will be open to internal stakeholders (students, teachers, and staff) who have accomplished and submitted the campus pre-entry requirements (for students) and proof of vaccination (for employees).
2. The LIB workflows and services below will cease:
  • Contact tracing and submission of vaccination cards
  • Curbside pick-up and drop-off of library materials
  • Seat reservations in the individual and group study zones
  • Email notification/campus entry approval request sent by LIB to AFM on stakeholders’ library use
3. The on-site LIB service hours will be extended:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday
8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Remote/off-site work schedule:
Thursday and Friday
8:00 am to 5:00 pm
The library's physical premises will be closed every Thursday and Friday.
4. Photoduplication service is now open on the 3rd floor library every Monday to Wednesday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
5. Seating and reservations:
  • The undergraduate and graduate group and individual study zones will now be at 100% seating capacity with no reservations required.
  • Study pods located in the USC mezzanine are now a free seating zone.
  • You may reserve a study space and multimedia equipment in advance.
  • The collaborative rooms listed below may be booked by the students, teachers, and employees with 100% seating capacity (see use policy in the reservation page).
    • University Student Commons (USC) discussion rooms
    • LIB multimedia hub and mixed use/viewing room
    • Law and Governance Section collaborative room
    • LIB mezzanine Discussion Rooms 1 & 2

All students, teachers, and staff are expected to wear their face masks, bring their personal hygiene kits, and observe the minimum health and safety requirements at all times.

For digital library services, in case your Primo Discovery Service Account has expired or if you do not have access to the Primo environment, please send the University Library an email or Ask ViRA so they can reactivate and/or issue a new Primo activation link in your UA&P email address.
