Book on mapping PH health laws relevant to OFWs launched
Dr. Veronica E. Ramirez, Associate Professor and Executive Director of the University Research Office at UA&P, unveiled her book Philippine Health Laws and Policies Relevant to Overseas Filipinos and Their Families: Mapping and Rapid Analysis during the 6th National Conference on Migration Health (NCMH) on November 19, 2024, in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
Her research provides a rapid mapping of the Philippine migrant health laws and policies and analyzes them using different lenses: (1) gender, (2) localization, (3) alignment with international labor/gender/migration standards, and (4) applicability to overseas Filipinos or their families, which can serve as a reference for analyzing the alignment of Philippine laws with international standards.
The publication was funded by the International Labour Organization (ILO) through the Safe and Fair Programme in partnership with the Philippine Migrants Health Network (PMHN) of the Department of Health (DOH).
