IST visits Provincial ICT Office of Cavite

The UA&P Department of Information Science & Technology (IST) visited on October 16, 2024, the Provincial Information and Communications Technology Office (PICTO) of Cavite located in Trece Martires to discuss the ongoing capstone projects of the UA&P BS Information Technology (BSIT) students for the province of Cavite.

The BSIT students are working on an inventory management system that streamlines the tracking of PICTO's digital assets, ensuring all hardware, software, and technical resources are accounted for and maintained. The system improves efficiency by providing a centralized database for quick access to asset status and availability, reducing downtime and enhancing service delivery. It also supports budget planning and helps forecast future resource needs by providing insights into asset usage and replacement cycles.

This project provides BSIT students with hands-on experience in designing real-world digital solutions while supporting the operational goals of PICTO.

The PICTO team, headed by Officer-in-Charge Mr. Jahn Leniel S. Moya, expressed enthusiasm for the students' efforts and highlighted the importance of these projects in enhancing local governance and community engagement.
