51 UA&P mentors, faculty & staff certified as Mental Health First Responders

The CSA-Office of Student Mentoring organized a Mental Health First Response Training last January 25, 2025, at the Telengtan Hall facilitated by Dr. Art Tolentino, Clinical Director of the USA-based Pathways Mental Health Services (PMHS) and developer of the intervention program Mental Health First Response (MHFR).

The certification training aims to teach participants how to use the prevention and intervention model to help individuals experiencing mental health concerns or suicidality. It also implements a program with original and copyrighted tools to assess suicide and high-risk situations and an action plan for creating safety planning to save lives.

Facilitating alongside Dr. Tolentino were MHFR program assistants Ms. Armenia Montaño and Mr. Jeremy Evangelio.

UA&P mentors, faculty members, security personnel, school nurses, student affairs officers, and students attended the training.
