UA&P students join prestigious Oxford and Cambridge programs

 

Seven students from the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) recently took part in international academic programs at two of the world’s most renowned institutions of higher learning — the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge.

Sharon Rose Agpalasin (SEC) attended the Cambridge Summer Programme, while six others—Ethan Dion Peña-Reyes (SCM), Carmela Isabel Sta. Ana (SCM), Theresa Luz Imperial (SMN), Isabella Ducut (SMN), Katreena Adrienne Cuaresma (SMN), and Angeli Domini Lim (SMN)—participated in the Oxford Certificate Programme at Worcester College, University of Oxford, from August 3 to 16, 2025.

Through lectures, workshops, and dynamic discussions with distinguished scholars and peers from around the globe, these Dragons broadened their academic perspectives and strengthened their leadership competencies, underscoring UA&P’s commitment to forming leaders who can excel in both regional and global arenas.

UA&P, Edusuite hold kickoff meeting to launch new systems implementation

 

The University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) and modern school management solutions provider Edusuite recently convened a hybrid kickoff meeting to formally begin their partnership on implementing UA&P's new school management system. 

Representing UA&P were Mr. Jason de Villa, Managing Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL); Mr. Rey Vincenzo Cruz, Managing Director of the Admissions Office; Ms. Mona Go, FMR General Accounting Section Supervisor; Ms. Zsa Elises, CTL Educational Technology Specialist; Ms. Mellany Bravo, Registrar’s Office Systems & Database Administrator; and Mr. Joel Mendoza, Site Reliability Engineer of the Digital Transformation & Technology Office.

EduSuite was represented virtually by Business Growth Manager Nikki Villaluna, Client Success Manager Jessica Mae Garcia, and Joseph Eliezer Omopia.

Key topics discussed were the responsibility assignment matrix, the UNI implementation checklist, and the training schedule, which is set to begin on August 27. Weekly progress meetings are planned every Wednesday starting September. The group also reviewed the EduSuite helpdesk support and service level agreement.

This kickoff meeting marks an important step in UA&P’s digital transformation journey, aiming to enhance administrative efficiency and improve the student experience.

SED Research Colloquium 2025

The School of Education and Human Development (SED) invites everyone to the SED Research Colloquium 2025 on September 13 (Saturday) from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Telengtan Hall. This activity is part of the celebration of SED’s 32nd Foundation Anniversary.

The colloquium will showcase selected Graduate Program research papers. Abstracts of the research papers may be viewed here

UA&P, YCCECE explore academic partnerships in Early Childhood Education

 

On August 6, the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), through the UA&P Child Development and Education (CDE) Center,  welcomed delegates from Hong Kong-based Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education (YCCECE) for a campus visit that marked a significant step toward international collaboration in early childhood education.

The visit followed a study tour to Hong Kong by faculty and administrators from UA&P CDE Center on July 22, during which initial discussions with YCCECE took place.

Representing YCCECE were Professor Kerry Lee, President; Ms. Winnie Ho, Director of Institutional Advancement and Marketing; and Ms. Miriam Shah, Senior Lecturer and Deputy Director of the Pamela Peck Discovery Space.

They were received by key UA&P officials, including Dr. Winston Conrad Padojinog, Outgoing President; Atty. Philip Yeung, Incoming President; and Ms. Melissa Garcia, Directress of the CDE Center. Also present were Dr. Lexie Estacio, from the Office of the Vice President for Faculty Affairs and former Directress of the CDE Center; and Ms. Shelesh Fadri, Administrative Officer of the CDE Center.

The visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to engage in in-depth discussions on potential areas of collaboration, including student internships, exchange programs, the development of a joint degree in early childhood education, and continuing professional development initiatives for faculty.

PrEBA opens Certificate Course in Data Governance

 

To equip professionals with the tools and strategies needed to manage and leverage data effectively, the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), through its Professional Education in Business Analytics (PrEBA) program, opens its Certificate Course in Data Governance.

Titled “From Foundation to Impact: Build Governance that Drives Value,” the two-module course is designed for data professionals aiming to lead with purpose and implement governance practices that deliver measurable business value.

The program covers the following:

  • A customized, actionable data governance framework
  • Tools for lifecycle-based data management
  • Practical solutions to recurring data challenges
  • Strategies for aligning governance with business goals
  • Insights to unlock data value and improve ROI

The course will be conducted onsite at the UA&P Ortigas campus on Saturdays, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
