UA&P welcomes pioneer PLM scholarship grantees


On August 1, the University of Asia and the Pacific held a welcome briefing for the first-ever recipients of the distinguished Placido L. Mapa Jr. Scholarship Endowment (PLM Grant).

The five UA&P freshmen who have been selected to receive the PLM Grant are the following:

  • Melvin Jabez Gonzales Canoza (Valenzuela City School of Math and Science)
  • Lauren Elise Alo Hao Cuenco (St. Benedict Childhood Education Centre)
  • Juliana del Rosario Hisoler (PAREF Southcrest School Inc.)
  • Love Andrea Mariano Lazo (Pasig City Science High School)
  • David Neil Joseph Velardo Lumba (Marist School Marikina)

The grantees will receive 100% coverage of tuition and miscellaneous fees, a stipend of Php8,000 and Php1,000 Internet allowance monthly for 10 months, a laptop, and Professional Development Coaching sessions by designated UA&P Board of Trustee (BOT) members.

  • Dr. Winston Conrad Padojinog – UA&P President
  • Dr. Amado Saquido – UA&P Vice President for Academic Affairs
  • Dr. Robert Miguel Roque – UA&P Vice President for Business Development and Alumni Affairs
  • Mr. Manuel F. Ayala – UA&P Board of Trustee
  • Ms. Jane A. Pulido – UA&P Board of Trustee

The grant is named after Dr. Placido L. Mapa, Jr., the Chairman of the Center for Research and Communication (CRC) and its successor institution, UA&P, until his demise on May 5, 2019, at the age of 86.

Server maintenance on August 16

 

Please be informed that there will be a scheduled downtime on our servers on August 16 (Wednesday) at 9:00 pm. The EmpowerEd production core server and database server will undergo a scaledown considering the load in the system has gone down with the completion of the undergraduate and graduate program enrolment period. The downtime will last up to one hour.

During the interruption, the EmpowerEd system will be inaccessible.

REG Advisory

Please be informed that the RFID cards for NEW STUDENTS (Undergraduate) will be released starting August 28, 2023 (Monday). 

It will be distributed by block sections through the PEER facilitators.

 

The reactivation of RFID cards for RETURNING STUDENTS (Old) will also take effect on August 28.

Contract renewal with AVEGA

 

We wish to inform all concerned that UA&P has renewed its contract with AVEGA Managed Care as the provider for our full-time regular employees’ medical and dental benefits for the period of 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2024. Eligible employees may continue to avail of their healthcare services through AVEGA’s existing membership and digital cards.

In addition, all regular full-time employees and qualified members of their family will also continue to have access to AVEGA-ComPsych’s free online counseling services: Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Employees may check out AVEGA-ComPsych’s resources on our Health and Wellness site.

Aside from AVEGA’s website, employees can avail of their services directly through the AVEGA Agora mobile app
