Sunway University signs MOU with UA&P

 

On November 16, the School of Arts of Sunway University (Sun-U), Malaysia, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with UA&P, paving the way for a more fruitful academic exchange between the two universities, which are both part of the ASEAN education network.

University President Dr. Winston Conrad B. Padojinog inked an agreement at the PLDT Hall with Sun-U School of Arts Associate Dean (International) Dr. Mayco Axel Santaella and Department of Communication Head Dr. Padma Priya K.R. Pillai. That afternoon, Dr. Pillai delivered a lecture on “Nay or Say of Non-playable Characters (NPC) Trends in TikTok” and how it leaves a digital footprint.

The Sun-U professors’ visit to UA&P and the MOU is an offshoot of the benchmarking visit of the College of Arts and Sciences to Sun-U in July 2023.

Cordoba professor visits UA&P

 

Erasmus+ Faculty Mobility awardee Dr. Pedro Chamorro Barranco from the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology of the Universidad de Cordoba (UCO) in Spain visited UA&P from November 20 to 24.

Dr. Chamorro delivered a lecture hosted by the School of Social Sciences, Law and Governance (SLG) entitled “The social and psychological  effects of the COVID-19 pandemic: Realizations and lessons for the future.” He was accompanied by his colleagues from the UCO Department of Psychology, Dr. Antonio Camacho and Dr. Daniel Falla, who also provided input in the discussions.

Announcement from the College of Arts and Sciences

 

The College of Arts and Sciences Operations Committee is pleased to announce that Dr. Dean Edward A. Mejos has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor.

Dr. Mejos was conferred the degree of Doctor of Philosophy major in Philosophy by the University of Santo Tomas last June 1, 2023, with his dissertation entitled “Understanding Love without Being: Critical Reflections on Jean-Luc Marion’s Philosophy of Love”.  Dr. Mejos obtained both his Masteral and Bachelor of Arts Major in Philosophy from the same university. He joined the College of Arts and Sciences Department of Philosophy in 2005.
