CPD seminar on "Understanding & Dealing with Developmental Delays"

 

The School of Education and Human Development (SED) invites all to its CPD-granting seminar "Understanding & Dealing with Developmental Delays" on March 9 (Saturday) from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Telengtan Hall, UA&P.

This one-day seminar to be facilitated by SED Dean Dr. Angelito Z. Antonio will provide the participants with the framework and systematic process of looking into a child who might have a delay in one or more areas of development and gain an understanding of what assessments to get and where to go for help.

Licensed professional teachers will earn 8 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points.

UA&P partners with Dualtech for ICT tech-voc education

 

On January 23, the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), through the Department of Information Science and Technology of the School of Sciences and Engineering, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dualtech Training Center in Calamba City, Laguna, that will provide information and communication technology (ICT) education to Dualtech’s electromechanical students as part of their technical-vocational program. 

The partnership aims to pursue research, training, and development initiatives that will elevate the quality of the delivery of technical and vocational education and training services in the field of ICT while strengthening the technical and vocational education and training ecosystem of both UA&P and Dualtech. 

Dualtech Center, established in 1982, pioneered the German Dual Training System (DTS) in the country, where the school and industry train students in real-life work experience. The center trains over a thousand scholars from the poor sectors of society each year and partners with over a hundred companies in training them for eventual employment.

IFFD Cebu Family Congress 2024

 

Everyone is invited to the IFFD Cebu Family Congress 2024 to be held at Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City, on February 24-25, 2024, with the theme “Family Life & New Technologies.”

The congress is organized by the International Federation for Family Development (IFFD), the largest international civil society organization devoted to family development based in Madrid, Spain. IFFD has a General Consultative Status with the United Nations and aims to support families by conducting courses on parenting and marriage. In the Philippines, IFFD programs are being conducted through Educhild Foundation, Inc. (EDUCHILD), a Philippine non-stock, non-profit organization.

The IFFD Cebu Family Congress 2024 will bring together a diverse audience of over 1,200 participants from around the world. With themes centered on artificial intelligence, machine learning, virtual reality, smart devices, the Internet, and other cutting-edge innovations shaping our future, the event aims to decipher the implications of these technologies for families worldwide.

Chaplaincy Advisory: Ash Wednesday

 

The imposition of ashes will be administered during the Masses on Ash Wednesday (February 14):

7:45 am     Sancta Maria Stella Orientis Oratory (SMSO)  
12:05 pm   SMSO and Dizon Auditorium

In addition, there will be a special ceremony for the imposition of ashes in the ALB chapel at 5:00 pm. This will consist of the Rite of Imposition of Ashes with Liturgy of the Word. There will be no Mass and Holy Communion in the afternoon.

Ash Wednesday is a day of universal fasting and abstinence in the Church. Fasting (required from ages 18 to 59) is taking only one complete meal and other partial meals. Abstinence from meat is also required for Catholics 14 years old and above.

ALB Extension 2 will serve as a dining area from Monday to Friday, 10:30 am to 2:00 pm, starting February 12 (Monday).
