West Philippine Sea photo exhibit

In line with the celebration of Museum and Galleries Month, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines' Museo El Deposito, in partnership with the UA&P College of Arts and Sciences (History and Asia Pacific Studies Departments), will open its special exhibition entitled Pag-asa sa Gitna ng Kalayaan on October 9 at the Hanns Seidel Hall of UA&P.

The event will bring closer to the youth the photo exhibit of Mr. Paul Quiambao, featuring his travel to the Kalayaan Islands in the West Philippine Sea, along with some of the cartographic collection of the National Library of the Philippines, the miniature of the BRP Sierra Madre, and the original flag of the Freedom Lands from Admiral Tomas Cloma.

The exhibition, which may be viewed until November 14 in UA&P, was first displayed at the National Library of the Philippines last July 5 during the lecture "Kwentubigan 2024 - Story of Our Seas: The West Philippine Sea in a Historical and Political Perspective."

Chaplaincy Advisory: Prayer and fasting on October 7

Pope Francis has called for a day of prayer and fasting on October 7, the first anniversary of the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war.

“In this dramatic hour of  our history,” the Pope said, “while the winds of war and the fires of violence continue to devastate entire peoples and nations,” the Christian community is reminded of its call to "put itself at the service of humanity."

The Holy Rosary will be prayed in the Sancta Maria Stella Orientis Oratory on October 7 (Monday) at 4:45 pm. All are invited to join in order to support Pope Francis' request for prayers.
