Easter Door-Decorating Contest

 

All schools and units are invited to participate in the University Easter Door-Decorating Contest with the theme "Whatever our state of life, we cannot live without these three dispositions of the soul, namely, to believe, to hope and to love” (St. Augustine) [quoted from the Bull of Indiction of the Ordinary Jubilee of the Year 2025, 9 May 2024].

The decorated doors/entryways should be available for viewing on April 23 (Wednesday) until May 9 (Friday). Judging will be from April 23 (Wednesday) at 12:00 pm to April 29 (Tuesday) at 12:00 pm.

Winners will be announced through the UA&P Dragons’ Lair on May 1 (Thursday).

AVEGA network maintenance on April 6

 

Please be informed that AVEGA, UA&P's healthcare service provider, will have scheduled network maintenance on April 6 (Sunday) from 3:00 am to 4:00 am. During this period, access to AVEGA systems and services may be temporarily affected.  

Call for Donations: Easter Care Drive

 

In line with the Jubilee of People with Disabilities scheduled on April 28 to 29, the  Human Resource Management, in collaboration with the Office of Alumni Affairs and BIGGKAS+, will organize an outreach activity titled “Easter Care Drive.” This initiative aims to provide care packages to members of our BIGGKAS+ partner community—Barangay Pineda, Pasig City—who have disabilities, are bedridden, and/or are senior citizens. 

Employees who wish to donate cash through salary deduction (for the April 16-30 and/or May 1-15 payroll) may accomplish this form on or before April 24 (Thursday).

Employees who wish to donate essential care items and/or volunteer and join the outreach activity on April 28 (Monday) at Barangay Pineda’s Relief Base Function Room may get in touch with Ms. Zoila Pilola at [email protected].

Forum on Academic Freedom of HEIs

 

The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU), in partnership with Estrada & Aquino Law and with the support of the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC), would like to invite you to attend the executive session titled "The Legal Mind: Academic Freedom of Institutions of Higher Learning" on April 22 (Tuesday) from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Centennial Auditorium, Jose Rizal University, Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.

This program aims to provide valuable insights into promoting, protecting, and strengthening the various aspects of academic freedom of higher education institutions (HEIs). 

The forum will also cover the following topics:

I. Governance of Philippine Higher Education: An Overview
II. Balancing Student Protection and the Academic Freedom to Enforce Discipline
III. The Extent and Boundaries of the Academic Freedom: Who May Teach? (Navigating Labor Laws for the University)
IV. A Safe Space Begins with Me (Anti-Sexual Harassment Act, Safe Spaces Act, and other laws promoting the welfare of students and school personnel)
