Panukalang batas para sa propesyonalisasyon ng mga tagasalin, isinusulong
Muling lumahok ang UA&P Kagawaran ng Filipino sa Translators’ Forum ng Kasalin Network noong Mayo 27 (Martes) sa Gimenez Gallery sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas-Diliman. Itinaguyod ang nasabing forum ng Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino.
Kabilang ang UA&P Kagawaran ng Filipino sa Kasalin Network na binubuo ng iba’t ibang samahan at institusyong pangwika at mga ahensya ng pamahalaan na nagsusulong ng mga programang pangwika gaya ng pagsasalin.
Isa sa mga layunin ng forum ay ang pagsusulong ng propesyonalisasyon ng mga tagasalin sa pamamagitan ng panukalang-batas na ihahain sa paparating na ika-20 Kongreso ng Republika ng Pilipinas.
Bago ihain ang nasabing panukalang-batas, pinag-usapan muna sa forum ang mga probisyon nito. Nakilahok sa mga pangkatang talakayan ng mga partikular na bahagi ng panukalang-batas sina Dr. Moreal N. Camba, tagapangulo ng Kagawaran; G. Louise Vincent B. Amante, G. Albert A. Lagrimas, at Dr. Leodivico C. Lacsamana. Nagmungkahi ang mga pangkat ng mga ideya tungo sa pagpapabuti ng mga probisyon ng panukalang-batas.

The Department of Information Science and Technology (IST) invites everyone to Code to Community: ITec Research Colloquium 2025 to be held on June 5 (Thursday) from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the PLDT Hall.
The colloquium, which highlights the theme “Advancing Transformative Research in Information Technology,” will feature the capstone projects of the IT seniors in the form of innovative solutions that bridge code with community impact. With a plenary session and two breakout sessions, the colloquium will showcase how student-led research can spark real-world change.
ITec, or the Information Technology Community, is the student organization of the IST.

From hands-on workshops to thought-provoking faculty discussions, these events reflect our growing commitment to using AI in ways that are practical, thoughtful, and aligned with our goals.
