UA&P launches Honors Program for Industrial Engineering

The University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), through the School of Sciences and Engineering (SSE), has launched the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE) Honors Program, an advanced track designed to equip students with specialized expertise in one of three high-demand areas: Logistics and Supply Chain, Decision Sciences, or Sustainability Analytics.

The BSIE program at UA&P is known for its rigorous curriculum that integrates engineering principles with business, management, and technology. It trains students to develop innovative, ethical, and sustainable solutions to complex economic and industrial challenges. The newly introduced BSIE Honors Program builds upon the Standard Program by offering deeper specialization and  a semester-long on-the-job training, providing students with a competitive edge in the workforce.

Developed through extensive consultations with industry leaders, alumni, and academic experts, the Honors Program directly addresses the growing demand for industrial engineers with advanced skills in critical domains. The program aligns with global trends, addressing critical issues such as supply chain resilience, data-driven decision-making, and sustainable business solutions. As industries evolve, the demand for highly skilled industrial engineers continues to grow, making the BSIE Honors Program a timely and strategic offering.

Graduates of the BSIE Honors Program will have access to a wide range of career opportunities. Those specializing in Logistics and Supply Chain can pursue roles in supply chain optimization, operations management, and strategic procurement. The Decision Sciences track prepares students for careers in data science, operations research, and business intelligence. Meanwhile, the Sustainability Analytics specialization equips graduates to become sustainability consultants, environmental analysts, and leaders in green innovation.

With its emphasis on specialization, industry collaboration, and real-world application, the BSIE Honors Program at UA&P is designed to produce highly competent and future-ready industrial engineers. By fostering innovation and leadership, the program reinforces UA&P’s commitment to molding professionals who are dedicated to serving the common good through the practice of wisdom, solidarity, and excellence.

April 1 declared holiday

Presidential Proclamation No. 839 has declared April 1, 2025 (Tuesday), as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid'l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan).

Penitential Rite for Lent

HRM and the Chaplaincy invite all faculty, staff, students, and outsourced personnel to the Penitential Rite for Lent on April 4 (Friday) from 3:00pm to 4:30 pm at the Sancta Maria Stella Orientis Oratory.

This year’s Penitential Rite for Lent will carry the following theme:

"The beauty of God's forgiveness of our sins!"

"Let us not neglect Confession, but rediscover the beauty of this sacrament of healing and joy, the beauty of God’s forgiveness of our sins!" (Pope Francis, Spes non confundit, 23)

The Penitential Rite is at heart a time when God’s people gather to listen more closely to His word and reflect on their lives in the light of that word. It is a time for contemplation, for being attentive to those things that at other times we cannot find time to focus on. We take part in such services to learn how to live our lives more deeply grounded in the Gospel.

Everyone who will participate in the Penitential Rite could make the most out of the activity by considering going to Sacramental Confession.

To facilitate the logistics of the activity, those who will go to confession are encouraged to sign up here.

The guide to the examination of conscience may be accessed here.
