Partial shift to online work from July 17 to August 2
The University will implement a partial shift to online work from July 17 (Thursday) to August 2, 2025 (Saturday). This temporary arrangement allows flexibility while ensuring that key services remain accessible to our stakeholders.
Please keep the following in mind:
- All employees must be available and responsive during work hours, whether working from home or onsite.
- Some units may need to send a few people to work onsite (skeletal staffing). Your supervisor will let you know if this applies to your unit.
- If you need to use any workspace or room on campus, your unit should coordinate in advance with AFM or the Reservations Office.
- The University Library operating hours are as follows:
Monday to Friday: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
Saturday: 8:30 am to 12:00 pm - The Registrar’s Office, the Admissions Office, and the Financial Management and Reporting unit will maintain skeletal staffing onsite to assist students and parents submitting school documents, and for enlisting and enrolling.
- Institutional activities (e.g., the JC graduation and Freshstart) shall continue as planned and will be assisted by the appropriate support units (e.g., AFM, DTT).
- While some areas may be closed off, the campus must remain open and welcoming. Gates will stay open, but internal closures (e.g., ACB) may proceed as needed. The Sancta Maria Stella Orientis Oratory will also remain open during this period.

Meditation for Women on August 12
All female faculty and staff are invited to the Meditation for Women on August 12 (Tuesday) from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the ALB Oratory.
This 30-minute monthly meditation offers a meaningful pause from the day to reflect, pray, and listen to a short spiritual talk that can guide and inspire. The meditation will be led by Fr. Alfred Cruz.
Immediately after the meditation, a merienda get-together will be held at the Executive Café.

UA&P, UGR celebrate Spanish heritage and academic exchange
The University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) and the University of Granada (UGR) in Spain participated in a faculty and staff exchange under the Erasmus+ program. This collaboration aims to foster cultural exchange and professional development between the two institutions.
As part of the exchange, Dr. Rocio Cruz and Dr. Elena Ortez from UGR's Department of Spanish Language led a two-day seminar titled "Hola! Unveiling Spanish Heritage" on July 9-10, 2025. The seminar provided an in-depth look into the Spanish language and culture, covering topics such as cinema, festivals, sports, cuisine, and specifically, the traditions of Andalusia.

Meanwhile, Ms. Marielle Uy-Abella of UA&P's Public and International Affairs Office traveled to Spain to take part in the "Intercultural Insights Week 2025: Connecting Cultures in the Academic Environment" hosted by the University of Granada from July 7-11, 2025. The event served as a platform to enhance skills, share best practices, and strengthen international cooperation on interculturality within academic settings.

UA&P students join Dongguk University’s summer school
University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) students are currently immersed in the rich academic and cultural experience offered by Dongguk University in Seoul through its Dongguk International Summer School (DISS). The program, running in two distinct sessions, offers participants the opportunity to earn academic credits while exploring various facets of Korean society.
The first session of DISS, held from June 23 to July 4, 2025, saw the participation of UA&P students Pauline Margaret Vivar (SLG), Alyssa Grace Diaz (SLG), and Yoela Leonor (SLG).
Currently underway, the second session, from July 7 to July 18, 2025, includes UA&P attendees Stacey Ang (SMN), Mae Magdalene Marajas (SLG), Althea Sandriana Sim (SLG), Mary Norvilex Porte (SMN), Iñaki Miguel Gutierrez (SLG), Beatrice Nicole Yasaña (SCM), and Rodelyn de Borja (SMN).
Dongguk University, highly regarded for its programs in Korean Media, Culture, Business, Humanities, and Social Sciences, provides a comprehensive curriculum for both Korean and international students. Beyond classroom learning, the DISS program is enhanced by a special study tour designed to offer participants a deeper understanding of Korea's historical and social landscape.
Arts faculty attend “Heritage, Art of Living and Tourism" summer school in France
Two faculty members from the Department of Arts of the College of Arts and Sciences participated in the “Heritage, Art of Living and Tourism" Summer School program in Angers, France, from June 30 to July 11, 2025.
Department of Arts Officer in Charge Ms. Andrea Abulencia and Arts instructor Mr. Arthur Vito Cruz attended in-class sessions and joined the various tours of the Angers and Loire Valley region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The summer school, offered by ESTHUA, National Institute of Tourism – INNTO France, and IRCOM School of Humanities & Management, “aims to provide a concrete and relevant response to the challenges of future tourism: valuing heritage, enhancing green tourism and developing teamwork with local partners.”
