The studio will be used to produce instructional videos and will also be open for use by students and staff who will need facilities for recording podcasts, video shoots, etc.

A new study and events space at Study Hall B is also under construction, which we hope can enrich students’ academic and org life here at UA&P.

Fit to Fight Program 2023

The Department of Physical Education (DPE) of the College of Arts and Sciences invites all UA&P employees back to the yearly Fit to Fight Fitness Challenge with the theme "#2Fit2Fight."

The Fit to Fight (F2F) Program has been a long-standing program of the DPE, with its aim to provide opportunities for employees to learn and experience the benefits of exercise. Apart from this, the F2F program aims to instill a consistent habit of exercising as part of the work-life balance goal.

The Fit to Fight Program involves making the workplace more supportive of positive health behaviors of employees, thereby reducing their risk of developing chronic diseases. This project, however, is not limited to risk reduction and disease prevention, but it includes supporting and promoting the overall well-being of employees as well as promoting physical activities, especially now that we have surpassed the difficult time in the pandemic and are preparing to return to the new normal.

Those who wish to participate may register here starting today until January 27 (Friday) at 5:00 pm. Orientation for the event will be on February 6 (Monday) at 5:30 pm at the Mezzanine Area of the Parking and Sports Building. This will be followed by a workout, so please be in workout clothes.

For more details and inquiries, email DPE at [email protected].

The Department of Information Science and Technology (IST) of the School of Sciences and Engineering paid a courtesy visit to the Department of Education - Schools Division of Bulacan (SDO Bulacan) last January 16 and explored possibilities for expanding IST's extension program.

Representing SDO Bulacan were Rowena T. Quiambao, CESE, Officer-in-Charge, Schools Division Superintendent; Dr. Cecilia S. Custodio, Chief Education Supervisor, School Governance and Operations; Dr. Joel I. Vasallo, Education Program Supervisor, Technology-Livelihood Education; and Bryan Amiel F. de Jesus, Senior Education Program Specialist, Social Mobilization and Networking.

IST, led by its Chair, Mr. Cyrus Paolo M. Buenafe, presented the accomplishments of their extension program that started in 2019 with three DepEd public schools under the jurisdiction of SDO Bulacan: Virginia Ramirez-Cruz National High School (VRCNHS), Francisco Mendoza Memorial Elementary School (FMMES), and Jose J. Mariano Memorial High School (JJMMHS). This was followed by a discussion regarding capacity building and ICT modernization initiatives for SDO Bulacan, which comprises 539 DepEd public schools and more than 18,000 teaching and non-teaching personnel. Among the initiatives planned is a pilot training program to equip teachers with the necessary skills to deliver ICT specialization subjects under the technical-vocational-livelihood (TVL) track of DepEd, with the goal to set up SDO Bulacan’s first ICT public school eventually.

Together with Mr. Buenafe were Mr. Anthony A. Saul, IST Laboratory Administrator, and Ms. Shirley Y. Tolentino, IST Program Officer.
