The University of Asia and the Pacific claimed victory for the second consecutive year at the National Student-Investors’ Convention (NSInC) 2026, organized by the Ateneo Management Economics Organization (MEcO).

Citadel, UA&P’s Investor Society, dominated the Stock Pitch Competition held on March 21 with a podium sweep, taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place this year.

Everyone is invited to a plenary talk on the evolving landscape of the Filipino household on April 15 (Wednesday) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Li Seng Giap Auditorium. 

The discussion, to be held in collaboration with the American global consulting firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG), will center on BCG’s latest landmark research titled "The Filipino Family." The study moves beyond simple demographics to explore how households, not just individuals, drive the nation's economy. Attendees will gain insights into how family values like shared success and collective decision-making shape Filipino consumer behavior.

The talk will be given by Mr. Lance Katigbak, a Principal at BCG Manila. As a lead author of this research, Mr. Katigbak brings a wealth of expertise in strategic consulting and consumer insights. A Harvard University alumnus, he also serves on the Board of Trustees of Teach for the Philippines and the Harvard Club of the Philippines Global.

The University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) College of Arts and Sciences formally unveiled on March 23, 2026, at the PLDT Hall its pioneering study on the furniture and weaving industries of the UNESCO Creative Cities of Cebu and Baguio. 

Funded by the UA&P Center for Research and Communication, the book, The Weaving and Furniture Industries in the UNESCO Creative Cities of Baguio and Cebu: Strengthening Cooperation in Challenging Times, highlights the vital role of Filipino creatives in sustaining the economy during and beyond the pandemic. 

Edited by Dr. Elizabeth T. Urgel, the publication brings together contributions from Dr. Carmita Eliza D. Icasiano, UA&P College of Arts and Sciences faculty member; Mr. Ranel Ram C. Cheng, UA&P School of Politics and Governance lecturer; Dr. Philip Michael I. Paje, Chair of the UA&P Department of Asia Pacific Studies; and Dr. Laya Boquiren-Gonzales, University of the Philippines Cebu faculty member and former UA&P faculty. 

The study underscores how artisans and industry players in Cebu and Baguio have emerged as global powerhouses, demonstrating resilience, innovation, and the enduring value of Philippine creative industries in challenging times.
